TexTag elearning project
The project has developed new European wide elearning modules in dyeing and finishing and apparel technology for on-line delivery via the internet for textile training. The modules are available in English, Czech, French, Lithuanian and Turkish languages
The project built upon successful previous work by the Textiles and Apparel elearning centre which has developed multilingual training materials in carpet and hosiery technology in addition to the Introduction to Textiles suite of modules and other specialist subject modules.
It involved 8 organisations from 7 different countries including the pan-European trade association (Euratex), sectoral, educational and business representatives.

The modules will "offer the underpinning knowledge to help technicians/craft level textile workers to achieve qualifications at the UK equivalent of NVQ level 3".
Please look in the modules menu, above, for more details on these and other modules and for links to view demonstration versions of the modules.

The
Project
The eLiTA ( eLearning in Textiles and Apparel) is the third project within the Leonardo da Vinci programme
This project builds on earlier work in the two previous TexTag projects which developed interactive learning modules in Czech, English, French, Lithuanian and Turkish languages in Apparel, Hosiery and Carpet Technology and Dyeing,Printing and Finising. In the eLiTA project a new partnership will update the content and develop interactive internet based learning materials in English, Greek, Latvian, Portuguese, Romanian and Slovenian for technicians and anyone who needs a good basic insight into Garment Technologies, Hosiery Production, Dyeing & Finishing and Carpet Manufacture.
The breadth and depth of content makes the modules suitable for study at both fundamental and more advanced levels and are intended for use by employees within organisations involved in the design, manufacturing and retailing sectors as well as students at school and further and higher educational institutions.
The uniqueness of the project is that the modules will be available on line in more European languages for use by individuals, employers and educational institutions, thereby extending the range and consistency of training provision in these subjects throughout Europe.
